So, I signed up for the knot awhile ago and plugged in our date - 5/9/09 - and now they e-mail me and tell me how many months I have to go and what I should have planned/be planning. The good news is that they all pretty much tell me the same thing this early on - save money, start thinking about a location.
Here is what I have done so far:
1.) Picked a location for the reception and put it on hold.
2.) Picked a style of dress.
3.) Picked colors: A "sea" green/blue, white, gold.
4.) Picked attendants.
5.) Started reading about all the Catholic stuff, and Matt is in stage two of his anullment.
6.) Started saving (need to give Matt another check this weekend - don't forget Kate)
7.) Checked into prices for photogs and videographers
8.) Started going back to the gym, although I've been sorta' spotty.
9.) Delegated the honeymoon to Matt, so I that is going to be taken care of.
10.) Picked a place for the rehersal dinner.... hope it's still there by the time we get married!
So that's not that bad! I'm pretty excited. The thing that stresses me out the most is the church. I work everyday and I don't know when I can actually GO. That's not a very good excuse. If I am not a member of a church, registered and in good standing, it's going to be hard to get through pre-cana. The ceremony is the most important part!
Any ideas? I don't know if work is going to let me take hour long lunch breaks all the time, but I was thinking of going to noon masses during the week. Maybe I should go and ask a priest for a suggestion? I should go to confession sometime too. It's been ages.

Love in the time of layoffs
So I can stop worrying about my job and get back to wedding planning, which is exciting. Not that I am actually planning much, because I am the worst bride ever, but I sure day dream a lot!
What I have been doing lately is thinking about the songs we'll play at the reception. Whenever a song comes on my little ipod shuffle (My new 30G Creative Zen is coming this week to replace my broken 40G ipod), I think about the wedding and dancing to it. I also think about what images I would put to the song if we used the song in our little photo slideshow. (I can't wait for that photo slideshow! We are going to have the best slideshow ever!) I also want to give out little CD's at the recpetion with songs that remind us of our courtship/love in general. It will be fun to design the CD covers, I'm looking forward to that.
So yeah, important stuff, like photo slideshow music, I am thinking about. Don't ask me about the church, or anything MINOR LIKE THAT.
